Sioux Tipi on the Waterfall in Woodstock, New York, U.S.
“The season is mid-April into November. While it can be kept warm and cozy in winter – we have been fine overnight at 10 degrees, we feel many guests would not have the right gear nor sufficient winter camping experience to appreciate it, so we take it down and store it for winter. See the calendar page for availability. If you are coming early or late in the season, nights are likely to be chilly, and keeping the fire going is needed to keep warm and cozy.
The photos show many details. The tipi and most of the furnishings are custom made to high standards: the tipi and liner, the bed and futon sofa bed, a solar reverse painted lamp, the book matched walnut counter tops, the dream catcher over the bed, the round stone fire place and firescreen.”

Have you found some unusual accommodations on Airbnb or around the web that you would like to stay at? Or do you have an unusual accommodation listed yourself that you would like to promote in the comments?
I really love this list! I think people will more and more look for those unique experiences instead of your regular hotel. I actually visited the cube houses in Rotterdam the other day, they’re actually quite spacious from inside despite the cubic design!
Hi Anouk,
I agree with you. People tend to look for some alternatives to staying at hotels and Airbnb is a great source to find some of those unique or different experiences.
That’s great that you had the opportunity to visit the cube houses in Rotterdam – it’s interesting how pictures can construe spaces into being much smaller than they really are. One of my top bucket list experiences would be to stay in a tiny house (preferably one made mostly out of glass) 🙂
I found one on Airbnb that I have my mind set on. I will definitely share the experience on my travel blog.
Love it! I could see me staying at some of these place. I love to travel to unique places.
Hi Linda,
Thank you. Yes, I am sure that all of these places would provide an unforgettable experience.
I agree, I love to travel to unique places too, it is much more memorable in my opinion.
Have you traveled to any fun and interesting places before? I’d love to hear about it.
